How I Work
Working with the emergent energetic capabilities of leaders is the real deal for me. My role is to shake, pause, hold; shake some more, pause and hold some more - mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. My total focus is on unlocking the authentic powers that reside within; within the individual and within the group. The true mastery of leadership is like alchemy and has immaculate ways of impacting the world and the lives of people. It’s an energetic force that yields more power than the smartest strategy or business plan. By allowing a leader(ship team) to operate on a higher energetic wavelength, the vibrational level of the whole community can be shifted. My biggest gratification is to see a ripple effect manifest throughout a whole community as a result of my work with its leadership. The beauty is that it doesn’t require any models or ‘change programs’ to manifests cultural change throughout the entire organisation, as people have a natural tendency to mirror behaviour of those who lead.
Mastering the process
Too often I hear people say that it takes time to build trust. Not in my world. In my experience trust can be forged in an instant, just like a piece of metal. You just need to know how to use the forge and the hammer.
I am an accelerator of natural processes. Accelerating trust to grow, innate gifts to flourish, potent ideas to germinate and equally for dysfunctional elements to die off quicker. Paradoxically the acceleration usually takes place by slowing down (!). I read people, I read situations and group dynamics - and in the process teach you to do the same. Without judgment I relay what I see, what I hear, what I feel. I will put pressure on dynamics that aren’t functional, undercurrents and subtle game play that suck up energy. In holding the space, I hold on to the discomfort until the group process finds a resolution. I provide clues, questions and interventions to induce creativity and highlight beneficial or harmful elements to the process. Leadership is all about mastering the process. Results follow automatically.
Real life learning
Real change happens when being ‘caught in the moment’. That’s why I like to work with leaders and teams in real life, real time settings. So no conceptual contemplations or case studies, but on the job learning. In my facilitation I use critical business issues to develop individual and team growth. This leads to results on all 3 levels simultaneously: Individuals make growth leaps, the team coherence and energy increases and decisions are made - often ones that have been lingering for ages. This way we create sustained leadership growth, shaping a self-learning, self-correcting and self-reliant teams, operating from authenticity and truthfulness, able to trust the process.
Effortlessness rooted in the four elements
What distinguishes great teams from good teams is the effortlessness with which people work together. To master a true equilibrium and connectedness in a team requires a leader to work with the four elements. Without the need to specifically mention them, these are four underlying corner stones of synergic co-creation.
The foundation of every team resides in the Earth element, the way its members are grounded in their own authenticity: This is the first pre-requisite for any team, allowing individual members to fully operate from their own source, their own origin. The Wind element is what bonds a team together, as it represents the shared story we breathe, the shared purpose that whirls our winds. The Fire element is the spirit or spark within the group: The joy of working together that originates from a code of conduct where openness and compassionate confrontations are cherished and seen as the way to grow together. Last but not least, mastering the flow of the Water element is what ultimately distinguishes great teams from good teams. Becoming like the water is how effortlessness emerges, the fluidity with which great synergy is achieved. This is the real leadership mastery where team members are connected to a mutual energy field, being able to tap in the collective consciousness and collective creativity.
