No back to ‘normal’

How you and your community will fare through these unprecedented times will depend on your ability to elevate your leadership. Never has the need for truthful, steadfast and authentic leadership been greater than now. We have reached critical tipping points, face multiple global crises and ‘managing’ to get back to ‘normal’ is not what’s needed. The ‘normal’ is what got us here!

Society is yearning for wise leaders instead of smart managers.

Crises carry an invitation to reconsider our conduct; we are being offered an opportunity to do things differently. Embracing this opportunity full-heartedly, requires an overhaul of what is considered ‘leadership’ throughout society. What we need are masterful warriors with a crystal clear vision, with the gift to incite the inspiration, creativity and empowerment necessary to co-create transformational change. We need leaders who are innately geared towards purposeful and sustainable conduct, with a visceral ability to tap into the dormant human potential.

We need a full leadership reset

In my work with leaders of leading global corporations, it became clear to me that our system is NOT geared to developing and/or nurturing true leadership. Instead, we have become reliant on the pseudoscience of management, which we turned into a tool for profit optimization and labelled it ‘leadership’. Dominated by our linear economic model and restrained by our over-rationalized societal ethos, we lost the understanding of the art of leadership. This has resulted in our current global leadership amnesia. What we need is a full leadership reset.

The search for a new perspective led me to some of the oldest surviving communities in the world.

For 25 years I have been pushing the boundaries of leadership development, relentlessly experimenting with new approaches and unorthodox pathways. My quest to understand the intangible aspects of circular and sustainable leadership, led me on a five-year journey. Together with my family I broke away from society to live and study with indigenous leaders and their communities around the world. Fascinated by their way-of-being, their lack of ego and their profound wisdom, I discovered strong parallels in their underlying leadership principles, which are now more relevant than ever for our modern world.

Leading from within.

Over the course of the past seven years I have been incorporating these powerful ancient principles in my work with leaders and their teams, moving from a knowledge-based ego-nourishing outside-in ethos to a wisdom-based intuition-nourishing inside-out one. I have witnessed the powerful impact on the communities and organizations of those leaders who embraced this transition and it has left me with no doubt about my mission: To help develop and nurture the authentic wisdom-based leadership the world so desperately needs.
